After a full month, my replacement battery box has arrived! Is it blasphemous to say that this kit isn't quite living up to the hype for me yet? As i get further into the build, more and more of the pieces are waay looser (especially the elevator). The boards are quite sturdy, but not as much as Mini Alley's Neo Ramen, which is significantly cheaper, often on sale, and accepts a coupon code. The LED light in the bottom left is also SO bright, I can barely look at the kit when I turn it on; i may need to paint over it with alcohol markers. I'm hoping installing the Eiffel Tower will make me feel better about how much $$ I dropped on this kit :')

Final thoughts: Difficulty: intermediate. Instructions are clear and in full color. Moderate amount of gluing involved, including handling several ~2mm rivets at the end Appearance: 4.5/5 - gorgeous execution. I love the multi color lighting, and the eiffel tower outside the window looks incredible. Just wish the kit came with more 3D parts to replace the 2D wine glasses and bottles Quality: 2/5 - parts are sturdy, but my battery box arrived broken. Several pieces like the 2nd floor railings, both outer walls, and elevator are extremely loose. I ran into the touch sensor problem that everyone seems to have, and the copper tape hack only kinda worked (the tape started getting really warm, and the kit also kept turning on and off by itself, so I ended up taking the batteries out...). I think it's really unacceptable for something like this to slip past quality control for a $150 product when comparable items have it figured out. Verdict: just okay 🤷‍♀️ It's pretty, but since i don't have any ties to Paris, it wasn't worth the price or hassle for me personally. I can't even turn the dang thing on without feeling like my house is haunted
