1. What this document covers

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Nook Junkies website at nookjunkies.com (“the Site”), operated by Nook Junkies (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. What Nook Junkies is

Nook Junkies is a community platform for book nook kit enthusiasts. We provide a product catalog of book nook kits with specifications and reviews, community features including a social feed, build journals, and discussions, and educational content such as guides and blog posts. We are not a retailer. We do not sell kits directly. When you click a purchase link on the Site, you are redirected to a third-party retailer (such as Amazon or a brand’s own website) where your purchase is governed by that retailer’s terms and policies.

3. Accounts

To use most features of the Site, you need to create an account. When you do:

You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
You may only have one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent moderation actions or manipulate community features is not permitted.

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

4. Content you create

When you post reviews, build journal entries, photos, community posts, comments, or any other content on the Site (“User Content”):

You own your content. You retain all rights to what you create.
You give us a license to display it. By posting User Content, you grant Nook Junkies a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the Site and in materials that promote the Site (such as social media posts featuring community builds). This license exists so we can operate the platform and share community highlights.
You can delete your content. If you remove User Content or delete your account, we will remove or anonymise it in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Reviews may be anonymised rather than deleted so that community review data is preserved.
You are responsible for what you post. Do not post content that you do not have the right to share, that infringes someone else’s intellectual property, or that violates our Community Guidelines.

5. Community conduct

Nook Junkies is built on the principle that this hobby brings people together. Our Community Guidelines describe the kind of environment we maintain. In addition to those guidelines, you agree not to:

Use the Site to harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
Post spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional content unrelated to the book nook hobby
Attempt to manipulate reviews, ratings, or community engagement through fake accounts or coordinated behavior
Scrape, crawl, or automatically collect data from the Site beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt
Attempt to access admin features, other users’ accounts, or any part of the Site you are not authorized to use
Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content designed to disrupt the Site

6. Product information and affiliate links

Our kit catalog contains product information gathered from manufacturer listings, community contributions, and our own research. While we work to keep this information accurate:

Product data may not be perfectly up to date. Manufacturers change specs, pricing, and availability without notice. Always verify details on the retailer’s site before purchasing.
We use affiliate links. Some links on the Site are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through them at no extra cost to you. We are not responsible for third-party purchases. If you buy a kit through a link on our Site, your transaction is with that retailer. Issues with shipping, product quality, returns, or refunds should be directed to the retailer.

7. Intellectual property

The Nook Junkies name, logo, site design, original guides, blog posts, and other non-user content are owned by Nook Junkies and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our original content without permission.

Product names, brand names, and images in our catalog belong to their respective manufacturers. We use them for informational and review purposes.

8. Availability and changes

We do our best to keep the Site available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes, but we are a small team and sometimes things move fast.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email or a notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Limitation of liability

Nook Junkies is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to dissatisfaction with products purchased through affiliate links, loss of data, or interruption of service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Site is limited to the amount you have paid us (which, since the Site is free to use, is zero).

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
