I was kind of excited to get this kit because I'm a huge Doctor Who fan and we all know this is the Tardis from the show. My first order of business was to make sure it looked more like the actual Tardis then the kit provided because we all know they had to be able to skirt by copyright issues. So I changed the signage to POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX, fixed the windows to a 3x2 instead of a 2x2, replaced the door handles, and sliced in another LED for the top after creating a beacon for it, then I replaced the cardboard cutout Capaldi with a 3D printed Tennent Doctor which really made it look so much better. The biggest problems I had with this kit was 1) The side-glow fiber optic cables were too short and made it next to impossible to connect to the LEDs under the floor. I had to widen the hole they are supposed to go into in order to get all four fibers in, and then they weren't quite long enough to stay. 2) The floor I received was printed on the wrong side and cut wrong, so all my fittings were reveresed. Because of that, the entire interior was somewhat backwards to the instructions. 3) The door hinges are a bad design. I understand the need for cutting corners, but using old school brads was a bit awkward. When assembled the doors didn't shut properly and overlapped. They could have either made the doors a bit thinner to account for that, or figured a better way for the hinges to work, because the way they are now, there is a large gap when they are closed on both sides. All in all it's not a bad kit... just one that requires alot of modifiction to look right. I give this kit only 3 stars simply because they tried, but they could have done alot better in my opinion.
